Firstly, it was our treat to have you. Ha...Mikey,

Firstly, it was our treat to have you. Haidyn just loves the $#!% out of you, and Asher, well, he likes your hats ;). Maybe next time we do something like the text I just shared with you. No it's not a picture of what you think it is ;).

I get them for free, something to do with appreciation, whatever, you can watch golf at the Mecca, and I can hit the course bar – maybe take a nap, I don’t know.

For anyone who has never seen Mike play golf, myself included, one of the craziest shots I have ever seen occurred. As Mike stated, we played a round, and actually linked up with some other folks on the course because I don’t think Mike was really challenged by the course so his speed was approximately 3-4 times that of average players. But on the first hole playing with our new found retirees, Mike punched it off the tee and for all of golfing purposes it was a great shot. Upon reaching the ball he noticed he was a little left as the hole bent left (a draw) quite a bit from his location on the fairway. This typically wouldn’t be a problem as one would merely turn their stance in order to punch it straight toward the hole. Yet, in this case, there was a giant patch of trees in the direct line of sight, not only this, the hole sat on a mound which was higher in elevation of the ball’s current location. So he was going to have to punch it hard, get loft, drop down on the green, all while managing to avoid the trees. Now for me, this means an extra one or two swings, because the hole is still pretty far away, I’m not that accurate with my hybrid, and if I get loft, I certainly can’t get enough to get over the trees hanging over the ball, all the while trying to go for distance as well. So of course, Mike pulls out some random club, I don’t think he really cared, smacks the crap out of it, and the ball goes straight up over the trees overhead, then curves to the right to miss the larger tree hazard, then back left to draw and plops maybe (no $#!%) 3 ft. from the hole. Needless to say, it took everyone else about 3-4 shot to get to Mike’s ball. I was blown away. Although his punch from the 18th to land on the green was ugly too lol.

Your words are too kind, and rather than turning this into a Hallmark card buddy, I love ya. Annie loves ya, and the kids love ya, hell, even the dog loves ya. My mom asks about ya all the time, and still can’t get over how great you look. You take your time, keep that momentum, and do things for you. I know that sounds like I am asking you to be selfish a little, but really I am asking you to be selfish a lot. You deserve it my friend.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09418447145469857587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8827663845602979613.post-32121815779125534462017-10-25T10:56:56.512-06:002017-10-25T10:56:56.512-06:00Hey! I’m proud of you for sticking it out and making the tough choices you did. Solid effort man. Life is fragile, live it up and don’t take anything for granted. I'm so sorry you came so close to the brink and have had such sadness in your life, but i suppose that helps you truly value the good now, eh? You're such an inspiration. Thanks for giving me a much needed boost. I, too, need to make some changes. 37 is only a few short months away, after all. Eep!! As you know we move every two to three years and it has become a family tradition to have a large garage sale before each move. This actually forces our hand in preparing for the event well into the time we are actually living in our new home. So we typically begin collecting "stuff" and placing it somewhere for the big day. We have some guidelines which really help us in our endeavors: if we moved here with it and it has stayed in a tote in the garage for a year it gone. There have been times when we have had "stuff" in a tote for two moves and one day it hit us, that we don't need it. It's weird really, you never actually think about your "stuff" until you have to pick the "stuff" up and move it every so often. As age creeps in, you want to do less picking up "stuff" and more anything else. Thanks bud. It's always going to be a struggle to hang on to way too much of that stuff for me, but it's in confronting those emotions from the past head-on whenever the opportunity arises that can lead the way towards self-actualization.Nickas!https://www.blogger.com/profile/12544223109298156827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8827663845602979613.post-16503215143496431922017-03-01T10:10:47.683-07:002017-03-01T10:10:47.683-07:00This topic hits close to home. I didn't realize how much crap I was allowing to build up. I literally felt lighter as I chipped away at it. And yet, in a strange way I have to respect that all that stuff that I let linger had to do somewhat with emotions/events that I had not dealt with fully. I like the whole "hoarder gene" idea. Lol.
